2,000 Canadian Experience Class Candidates Invited in July 21 Draw, Details Published July 22
IRCC confirmed on July 22 that it issued 2,000 Invitations to Apply in a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Express Entry draw held the previous day. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 516—down one point from the earlier July 7 CEC round. CEC draws target temporary foreign workers and graduates with at least one year of skilled Canadian work experience, a group prized by employers for their labour-market integration and high retention rates. With seven Express Entry rounds in July alone, Ottawa has now issued more than 80,000 ITAs in 2026, on track to exceed last year’s record. For HR teams, the stable 2,000-ITA volume and marginally lower CRS cut-off suggest continued, predictable opportunities to transition key talent from work permits to permanent residence. Candidates scoring in the low-510s can improve odds by obtaining a provincial nomination (worth 600 CRS points) or boosting language scores before the next draw cluster expected in August. The July 21 CEC draw also demonstrates IRCC’s commitment to category-based invitations alongside occupation-specific rounds. Companies should monitor both streams to align workforce planning with employees’ individual CRS profiles, particularly as backlogs in other PR categories lengthen.
