Intra-Company Transfer renewals remain the slowest, stuck at 8 April filings. The data indicate DETE has shaved roughly three working days off the CSEP queue since the last update on 17 July, thanks in part to a surge-team initiative introduced this spring. Yet lead times still exceed the 4-week service target set out in the Employment Permits (Consolidation and Amendment) Act 2025. For sectors battling acute skills shortages—ICT, pharma and construction engineering—the lag can translate into lost bid opportunities and project overruns. Corporate mobility managers should adjust deployment timelines: a new GEP lodged today is unlikely to be decided for five to six weeks, not counting entry-visa processing by the Department of Justice. DETE continues to prioritise Critical Skills, so employers may wish to re-assess role classifications or leverage Trusted Partner status to ensure documentation completeness at first pass. DETE officials say further relief is on the horizon when the long-awaited e-Permits portal goes live in Q4 2026, automating document validation and fee collection. Until then, applicants are reminded that incomplete submissions automatically lose their place in the queue. Proactive file audits and the use of professional immigration counsel can therefore still deliver a competitive edge.
