ANAC has quietly rolled out version 3.0 of its award-winning ‘Super App’, introducing an end-to-end digital workflow that lets aircraft-maintenance mechanics (MMAs) complete training, exam scheduling and licence issuance entirely on a mobile device. The update, announced on 6 October via Agência Gov, taps Gov.br APIs to auto-verify military-service status and electoral-compliance documents—long-standing paperwork bottlenecks for licence applicants. Although targeted at maintenance professionals, the upgrade matters for global mobility because it shortens the lead time required to deploy technical expatriates on aircraft-on-ground (AOG) assignments inside Brazil. MRO providers like Lufthansa Technik and Rolls-Royce have complained that physical document checks could delay the validation of foreign engineers for weeks; the app’s new features could cut that to days. The Super App, first launched in 2024 for pilots and drone operators, now reaches more than 120,000 users. Version 3.0 expands the back-end interface to pull course-completion data directly from ANAC-certified training organisations and push licence numbers back to airline HR systems via REST APIs—a boon for travel-department compliance audits. From a cybersecurity point of view, ANAC says the application underwent a third-party penetration test and is compliant with Brazil’s LGPD data-protection law. Still, companies should instruct staff to enable multi-factor authentication, particularly when accessing the app over public Wi-Fi at airports or hotels. Looking ahead, ANAC plans to integrate e-credential QR codes that can be scanned by ramp-security personnel, potentially eliminating plastic ID badges at major hubs by 2027. Organisations rotating overseas technicians into Brazil should monitor these developments and update onboarding checklists accordingly.
