Eurostar’s French-language traffic page confirms that multiple trains across its network—including the high-demand Brussels–London and Brussels–Paris corridors—were cancelled between 10 and 14 July because of rolling-stock availability and crew-rostering issues. The carrier says affected passengers have been rebooked or offered refunds in accordance with EU Passenger Rights Regulation 2021/782. Although the cancellations largely occurred before the Bastille Day weekend, the notice remained live on 14 July, prompting confusion among travellers who assumed further disruptions were imminent. Eurostar clarified to The Brussels Times that the message will stay online until the last affected ticket holders have processed compensation claims. Industry analysts note that Eurostar’s hybrid British-European headcount model makes summer scheduling particularly sensitive to sickness spikes and cross-border labour-law differences. The operator is accelerating recruitment for its Brussels-based crew hub but warns that the tight market for bilingual train managers will continue to pose challenges into 2027. Companies planning group movements between EU capitals should check PNRs issued before 15 July and, where necessary, issue revised itineraries. Eurostar says a contingency timetable for August will be published next week.
