Eurostar’s live service bulletin, updated at 11:52 CET on 21 September, lists multiple real-time and forecast disruptions affecting trains between Paris, Lille and London as well as Amsterdam and Brussels connections. The operator cites infrastructure works on the French high-speed network, compounded by maintenance backlogs in the UK and Belgium, leading to cascading knock-on delays of up to 30 minutes. Specific impacts include late departures from Paris-Gare-du-Nord due to rolling-stock repositioning, speed restrictions on sections south of Arras, and capacity constraints in the Channel Tunnel when engineering possessions overrun at night. Eurostar has also flagged possible service reductions later in the week if SNCF Réseau’s ballast-cleaning schedule slips. Corporate travel managers should advise employees to remain platform-side at the scheduled time despite any online delay notices, as Eurostar may close boarding with minimal notice once paths reopen. Travellers with tight onward flights at London Heathrow or Paris CDG are urged to re-book onto earlier trains or allow minimum 90-minute connections. Under EU Rail Passenger Rights Regulation 2021/782 (still applicable to Eurostar despite Brexit via the operator’s terms of service), travellers delayed more than 60 minutes are entitled to vouchers or refunds. Companies with self-booking tools should ensure PNRs are updated so employees receive automated compensation emails. Looking ahead, Eurostar confirms that a rolling programme of overnight works in the Channel Tunnel will continue until early November, making autumn 2026 one of the most construction-heavy periods since the line opened. Stakeholders should integrate live feeds into their duty-of-care dashboards.
