The agency is also fast-tracking procurement of detention-facility beds and secure-transport contracts. For employers, a larger ICE footprint means greater exposure to Form I-9 audits, “no-knock” work-site inspections and deferred-action terminations. Multinationals should ensure I-9s are current, that electronic systems comply with DHS’s new 2026 audit protocols, and that rapid-response legal teams are on call. Mobility managers should brief relocating employees—particularly those on pending asylum or adjustment-of-status applications—about increased enforcement encounters at airports and highway checkpoints.
