More than 120 corporate mobility, HR and tax leaders are meeting today at Frankfurt’s Westhafen Pier for the Global Mobility Executive (GME) Leaders Exchange Forum, co-hosted by relocation provider Sirva and its advisory arm. The one-day, invitation-only event focuses on how multinationals operating in Germany and the wider DACH region can future-proof their mobility programmes as regulatory and technological change accelerates. Morning keynotes look at artificial-intelligence tools for assignment cost projections and the looming EU pay-transparency directive, which will oblige employers to disclose comparative salary data to expatriates from mid-2027. A dedicated immigration panel will dissect Germany’s Opportunity Card points system and the extended internal border controls that now run until March 2027. Speakers from Sirva’s compliance team warn that companies must synchronise assignment letters, posted-worker notifications and A1 social-security certificates to avoid fines that recently doubled to €60,000 per violation. In the afternoon, case-study round-tables cover remote-work tax exposures, setting up “country-agnostic” talent pools and using ESG metrics in vendor selection. Participants include BASF, Deutsche Bank, Adidas and several Mittelstand champions with growing outbound assignment volumes to the US and Asia-Pacific. The forum’s insights will be compiled into a post-event white paper available to attendees next week, but Sirva says key takeaways will also be summarised in a public webinar in October, giving smaller employers access to best-practice recommendations.
