Cyprus Airways announced on 9 October—and detailed by industry outlet Travel and Tour World on 10 October—that its official website now supports French, Italian, German, Spanish and Russian in addition to English and Greek. Developed with localisation specialist MotionPoint, the upgrade is designed to make flight search and booking easier for non-English-speaking customers as the carrier expands beyond its traditional European markets. Chief Commercial Officer Alex Davies said bookings from France and Germany have grown 28 % year-on-year, and language accessibility was identified as the biggest single barrier to conversion. The multilingual roll-out is phase one of a broader digital-commerce overhaul that will next introduce local-currency pricing and Apple Pay integration. While the initiative does not create new routes, tourism officials believe clearer online information will stimulate pent-up leisure demand from continental Europe and Russia ahead of the 2027 season. Travel-management companies (TMCs) handling corporate traffic to Cyprus note that self-booking adoption has risen sharply post-pandemic; a flexible, multi-language platform reduces reliance on call centres and supports 24/7 itinerary changes. Expats and digital-nomad visa holders—many of whom work remotely for companies in Italy, Spain or France—also stand to benefit. Being able to manage bookings and ancillary services in their native tongue can simplify last-minute trips required for residence-permit renewals, client meetings or tax-residency resets. Cyprus Airways will monitor conversion rates and bounce times over the next quarter and says further languages, including Arabic and Mandarin, are under consideration as the airline eyes codeshare expansion into the Middle East and Asia.
